An ah-ha moment

I have been down lately about how much further we have to go on this debt journey and wondering whether we can keep it up for the years it will take - not that there's really a choice, but it's depressing. But I paid a small bill today and plugged in my numbers to my debt total and realized that as of this morning, we have paid off $10,000 in 2012 alone! If we're able to keep up this pace, it's possible that we could pay off $20k in 12 months. That would be nearly twice what we paid off last year. Now that feels like progress! Maybe there is hope. Let's hope there is.

  1. That's amazing that you've been able to ramp up the debt repayment by twice as much! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you hit that target.

  2. It does take an amazingly long time. I put together all these plans and then Murphy shows up. But as long as I don't add debt I feel like I am getting some where. Just slowly.

  3. Every little bit helps...I keep looking for ways to spend less and use that money on debt...always enough stuff in the house for at least one garage sale this year...albeit a small one...

  5. I am impressed that is a huge amount, well done. It will be gone before you know it and then the rest of your life is in front of you, how fabulous it's going to make the journey so worthwhile.......
